Record on your server
The container receives the stream and stores files in your recordings folder. Apple TV can be off.
Find your recordings
Check status, completed files and reported interruptions from the server interface and ZAPTVIO.
DOCKER ON YOUR NETWORK
Install DVR on your NAS or computer.
Install ZAPTVIO Server on a machine that stays on to record your programmes at the scheduled times.
Install the container
Prepare configuration and recording folders, then start the Docker Compose project.
Activate your server
Open the private activation link generated on first launch and set your administrator password.
Pair ZAPTVIO
Create a single-use pairing link and add it to ZAPTVIO from your TV or the management page.

How is this different from saving to a NAS?
An SMB share is a file destination. ZAPTVIO Server is a DVR service that runs schedules independently on your machine.
Does my subscription need multiple connections?
The server opens its own provider connection. Watching a channel while recording another requires enough allowed connections. Apple TV’s VPN does not cover the server.
Can I access it over the Internet?
This version is designed for your local network. Do not expose its port to the Internet. Connections use HTTPS and pairing verifies the server certificate.
What happens if a stream is interrupted?
The server reports incomplete recordings. Recovery may create multiple parts; content lost during an interruption cannot be recovered retroactively.
YOUR RECORDINGS, AT YOUR PACE
Skip detected ad breaks.
After recording, ZAPTVIO Server can analyze the video with Comskip. In the app’s Aether player, yellow markers and a Skip ad button help you get back to your programme.
You stay in control: nothing is removed from the file, and you can disable the markers. Analysis requires Pro, may miss or misidentify advertisements, and does not block ads on live TV.
